Light brick red colour with orange edge. Lovely mature, red cherry, vanilla with slight maderised edge to the bouquet. Palate is refined, elegant, mature mix of morello cherry, vanilla, cinnamon and gentle acidity and softly tannic finish.

Ch. Musar Dinner with Marc Hochar (The Bunker, Crown Wine Cellars, Shouson Hill, Hong Kong): Pre-decanted for around 6 hours by Marc Hochar. Slightly separated, murky ruby colour. Very reticent on the nose....likely heat damaged. Palate is porty and somewhat one-dimensional. Saved almost by its very heady, long and reverberant finish which reminded me of how good this can be.

(Chateau Musar) This was very interesting and had great freshness on the palate but had way too much VA for me to enjoy. This was my first older Musar and I could appreciate what it was but I was not feeling it this night. Have LOVED the '95, '97 and most of all the '88.

fully mature, perfect balance of soft red fruit, elegant tannins and soft acidity. Almost perfect.

Marzipan and VA, red fruits and spices a bit tomato. This is quite pretty, maybe a bit past peak but still very good.
