  • Not as bad as originally expected. Some complexity but it is definitely time to drink up :-)

  • decant for 2hrs, and drank half of the bottle for 1+ hr.

    dark ruby color.

on the nose, plum, wood , leather and hint of licorice.

on palate, plum dominant, medium to full body, tannin present. i find the taste a tab too sour. not very pleaseant sour plum note..

  • Popped and poured over a two hour dinner. Sangiovese notes of sour cherry with some leather and barnyard. Probably needs more air but on the occasion I found this to be rather simple. Likely a sign of the difficult vintage, as I enjoyed the 2004 bottling much more (bright fruits and lively in a modern key).

  • Very well into the drinking window, nice cedary notes with ripe fruits and some herbs as well.

  • smell of funny wood /oak when i first popped it, and tasted bland and awefully sweet which got me worried if this bottle is still good to consume. decanted it for over 1.5hrs, and retasted it. on palate, surprisingly it still have good fruits (red fruit), hint of cedar, color towards brick. on palate, it was still closed and dry on finish, but, i was relieved tt it was still alive. drank it over 1 over hrs, and it got better in term of nose and palate when it opened up. it became spicy on palate, medium body.

it was enjoyable to see how this bottle evolved with breathing, good value buy!
