Nice, dark garnet color. Some dust, earth and stewed fruit on the nose. Taste started out with a bit of tart cherry, but moved on to a more herbal, eucalyptus taste with darker berry. Something else I can't identify. Medium bodied with moderate acidity.
Honestly, I expected a bit more of this after tasting at the vineyard 2 years ago. Still a nice wine, but I can find others at this price point I'd rather drink.

Drinking quite nicely and young. Layers of primary fruit — plums and cassis — with spices, herbs, and vegetal notes. Soft but firm tannins and nice acid remain. Service: I gave this 3 hours of slow ox and 1.5h in a decanter. A good amount of sediment was removed at decant. Served just below room temp.

Drank over 2 days, second glass first night was best. Not bad second day. Decant an hour.

Still drinking at the same high level as when we had our first bottle. A big bordeaux blend but not overbearing. The best 2011 Napa wine we’ve had.
