Quite a typical Pomerol but somehow lacking in complexity which leads me to assess that this may be past its drinking window. Liked the deep colour and plum nose, with a very ripe plum palate. Paired nicely with the excellent Char siew and large Iberico pork Ribs in Chef Paul's at Kota Damansara. Part of my curated trio of Pessac-Leognan, St Emilion and Pomerol for our dinner triple ? date, E&Z, S&S and us too.

Tasted next to 2015. Less intense, less generous, again spicy, quite oaky. The tannins are well integrated, if a little coarse. Good length. 87-89

Light in color, the wine has simple but pleasant cherry personality. Drink this within the first few years of life. 85-88 Pts
