The Great Grapes of the World Tasting (New Jersey, USA): The third of six dry whites tasted. Beautiful bright medium golden yellow color. Slightly creamy tropical fruited nose. Great rich mouthfeel with bright (medium+) acidity. Little to no sign of oxidation/age. Still quite fresh and young. Lots of mango, pineapple and guava flavors and a vanilla/cream undertone. Delicious with a coconut jasmine rice.

Like no other Pinot Gris I’ve had. I don’t have experience with good Alsatian PG, but the closest comparison I have is to Grösses Gewächs Riesling. Big creamy mouthfeel, but amazingly clean, wet-rock finish. Intense but integrated (on day 2) acidity. Just starting to show its age, I wish I had waited on this one.
But dear god decant this. I drank most of this bottle on day 1 and it was good but still way too tight. Day 2 it’s starting to shine and honestly I’d wager day 3 would be best.
Hold or decant

Similar to last bottle; beautiful tropical fruit, floral notes, and lovely jasmine and floral notes. Still with a nice acid core that keeps it fresh. I think this will hold for a bit, but I would probably drink this within the next few years for my personal taste.

Still so wild and intense. Peach liqueur, a field of flowers. Needs air - an hour in glass for wildness (petrol?) to blow off.

Uniquely intense version of a Pinot Gris. Strikes me as more Alsatian than Oregon in character. Bright, but luscious. Good food accompaniment!
