  • Dried rose petals, cedar chest, tobacco leaf, cigar box, spice, forest leaves, and, bright red currants pop as soon as the wine hits the glass. Medium-bodied, with peppery strawberries, kirsch, cedar, tobacco, and peppery, leafy herbs are all over the fresh, crisp, refined, elegant palate. I was surprised by how good this wine was, as I seldom get the chance to taste 1962 Bordeaux. What a treat! Drink from 2022-2027.

  • Beautiful color, I uploaded a photo with the cork which came out perfectly from a top shoulder bottle.

Burgundian now for this vintage, everything subtle, everything quiet, soft, beautiful. If you love a 4 minute wintergreen finish, then you will love this wine. I went to an 82 tasting featuring no less than the 5 first growths, Petrus, Ausone, and Pichon Lalande, and my favorite wine of the night was Ausone because of the incredible wintergreen bouquet. Unfortunately, it tasted nothing like the bouquet, almost boring. Latour and Petrus were a tie for first as a drink.
This Baron is delivering what The Ausone suggested but lacking mid palate depth beyond library books, barnyard, and the lightest suggestion of strawberries. Unfortunately, the celery seed note you can get from very old Baron is seemingly covered by the wintergreen, which is not exactly bad, what a wonderful wine. What a wonderful world. Drink Baron!

  • dark ruby color with only light separation at the edges.
Nose explosive, herbal, lightly dusty graphite. Palate rich fleshy cherries, herbal fruits, great earthy complexity. Still drinking really well, co-WOTN. 95 pts

  • Color granatoso-atejado, ribete atejado bien vivo, capa baja y suave lágrima.
¡Impresionante! Y aún tiene años por delante.

  • Opened this for a 50th b'day not expecting too much. Top shoulder fill. Cork broke in half but the second half came out with some work. Suprisingly dark color. If served blind I would of guessed it was 20 years younger. Popped and poured. Really nice nose dominant in cherry. Flavor profile backed up the nose with lots of cherry and earth. First glass was the best. After about and hour it was pretty much done. If you are looking for a '62 this is a good place to start as these can still be found in the $80 range. A lot of fun and enjoyment in this one
