  PNP. First impression still primary and citrus front to back indicative of the vintage. Bright red fruits, cherry, cranberry. Tannins softening, still present and not totally integrated.

  appearance - light garnet color, clear at edge, good body, reflective - 3
  aroma - cherry & berry on the nose, some slight oak, vanilla - 4.5
  taste - cherry & berry, slight tannin, light - 4.5
  aftertaste - continued fruit, mostly cherry, mid-finish, oak - 2.5
  overall - light on fruit, good balance - 2

  A solid wine, but one that suffers from the cool vintage and is therefore difficult to get excited about, particularly for the price. The 2012 Founder's Reserve came off as an equally good wine, at about 1/2 price. 88-89.

  Light on the palate, but pleasant with mostly pie cherry flavor and a hint of earth. Assertive but not over the top acid to complement the cherry flavors.
