  • Nose of bramble berries and crushed currents, ripe plums, and dark cherries. Palate follows with similar nose of berries with integrated iron, cedar box, and long tannins. Beautiful finish. Great 12 year old wine.

  • Clearly flawed. Very bitter and flat on the front palate. Undrinkable, but even more frustrating because it had a beautiful tantalizing nose, and then underneath the bitterness there was beautiful fruit and a long smooth finish. I was drawn by the nose and finish to try tasting again and again to see if the flaw resolved or cleared up, sadly no luck, still undrinkable.

  • This is in such a great spot right now. Seocndsry Notes of rich Mexican cajeta meet some dark plummy fruit that’s fading but still there. Tannings are darn near perfection for someone who loves medium plus tannins. Acidity is also in excellent balance, letting this wine age rather gracefully. Really loved this bottle and this feels like we cracked it at the optimal moment for the wine.

  • Tight and sharp out of the bottle, but opened quickly. Decanted for an hour, didn't need that long. Plenty of sediment, decant carefully. Dustiness yields to enticing floral and pitted fruit notes layered beautifully, creme de cassis finish. Heavier on the nose than the tongue, so didn't quite pair with the steak frites we ate with it, that's our fault. Definitely can be enjoyed alone.
