On opening, cassis, black fruits, someone mentioned some tar, which I also get. Also a little heat and bitterness that detracted somewhat. But the 2nd night this was really going strong. Cassis and sandalwood dominate, then maybe plum. Very smooth, with well-integrated alcohol and tannins. The experience the 2nd night was more than worth the price of entry.

Decanted for sediment. Dark crimson color. Nose of cassis, blackberry, sandalwood, slight hint of pyrazine and cigar box. Very nice. Similar flavors on the palate with still lots of primary fruit for an almost ten year old wine. Medium+ acid, tannins mostly resolved. Smooth mouthfeel. Drank a little on the soft side so I am not sure this is a long term aging cab but delicious now. Paired very well with marinated hangar steak.

Very tight with huge tannins on PnP. Poured through an aerator this opened up to show a classic Cab with plum and dark fruit. Good finish with gritty tannins. I would hold and/or decant.

Very nice on PnP. Cassis and plum mixed with black fruit and a hint of tar. Still has significant tannins on the finish

Three years since last bottle. This was decanted for several hours prior to short rib Christmas dinner. Drinking wonderfully. Drink or hold.
