Almost too rich and over the top, big fruit (mostly cassis and black raspberry), some heat but it settles down after time in glass. I didn't decant but an hour or more should help it open up if you do. Nice undercurrent of acidity and soft tannins, with a vanilla creaminess on the mouthfeel. Still relatively young, it should develop some interesting tertiary flavors over the next several years.

Ribera Abend...und abgesehen vom wesentlich teureren Hacienda Monasterio Reserva Wein (auch 2011) der beste des Abends. Obschon er ziemlich viel Kraft hat sehr ausgewogen und mit feinen, körnigen Tanninen ausgestattet. Erdbeerconfit, Pflaume, Sandelholz und süße Veilchen in der Nase und schöne würzige Noten von mild geröstetem Kaffe sowie schwarzer Frucht auf der Zunge. Kann man schön jetzt trinken, wird sich aber über mindestens 5 Jahre noch schön entwickeln.

Very inky wine with heavy mouth feel. Funky nose, but very smooth and classic tempranillo flavor. Overall, a very nice wine.
