Not as famous as Brunello, but just as distinctive and delicious. Late-harvest Moscadello, partially aged in French barrique for a year. Medium gold, with a pronounced and complex nose of tropical fruit, stone fruit, orange zest, white flowers, honey, sweet spices. Clean, with no botrytis. The palate is medium-sweet but balanced by medium (+) acidity. The alcohol is medium at (13). It pairs nicely with sharp aged cheeses, like a Sauternes, or fruit and pastry desserts. Very good QPR.

Golden colored, medium bodied, bright vibrant bouquet and flavors of sweet apricot, honeysuckle, tones of raisins, almonds and honey on full lingering unctuous finish.
Tasted at Vivere Italian Village Chicago wine producer dinner.
Mid-gold in colour, luscious flavours of peach and orange on the palate but perhaps not the balancing acidity I had hoped. Tasted fatter and more opulent than six months previously. Not to the taste of everyone at the table but then these rich stickies tend to be quite polarising.

Banfi smakk í Perlunni (Perlan): Banfi smakk, 7. borð. Nú var skipt um gír og farið yfir í sætvín, enda erfitt að slá út rauðvínin á borði 6. Þetta sætvín var alveg ágætt. Passleg sýra til að vega upp á móti sætunni. Í ilmi apríkósur og stikilsber. Passaði vel með kransakökukossum sem var boðið upp á í lok smakksins. Á þessu borði var líka boðið upp á grappa. Mér fannst það hræðilegt. Hellti því eftir tvo sopa. Eini vökvinn sem fór þá leið á smakkinu hjá mér.
