Barleyed sugar is a great descriptor for this wine (I saw it from previous note). Drank on the heels of a Rasteau and that was a bit light on it's feet whereas this was a bit heavier, almost a touch grainy. I felt like I could taste the chestnut casks though and it reminded me very much of standing in an old cellar in a Nonna's basement where she made her equivalent of this wine. Very of the place. Fun.

Really dense nose, packed with orange peel and honey. Rich and powerful with a slight viscosity, it’s ripe and concentrated with honeyed fruits, barley sugar and sweet creamy vanilla. Good acidity keeps everything in check. Great stuff.

Après une bouteille pataude et décevante en 2016, celle-ci est brillante.
Une superbe matière accompagnée d'une grande vivacité, c'était excellent.

Young yet profound. Salted caramel, honeycomb, citrus peel, brown butter, vibrant acidity. Far from peak.

Superb, sweet but balanced with dry acidity, hint of oxidisation, candied peel. Very concentrated but never cloying.
