  • I bought this wine in 2006 in Malaysia for about hkd$234, which sleeping in my Vintec for a good 9 year.
Extracted by Coravin. Colour is glossy and still dark with just a little bit brick at the rim. Start showing signs of maturity. Nose of complexity with slightly burn rubber, plump, herbs and licorice. The palate is round, full body and echo the nose. Good acidity at finish with around 20s aftertaste. Very good. Keep wanting more. At Hkd$234, what do you think?

  • Not sure but this bottle may have been flawed. Prune, stewed fruit almost port like. I have had St. Henri on several occasions in the past and this seemed to be completely different from what I remembered.

  • Good but not great, doesn't seem to have come together just yet. Deep rich black fruit, olives, plums and aniseed. Has good structure but this bottle just didn't quite hit the high notes I was hoping fo.

  • Deep purple colour, hard to tell this is 13 years old. Rich redcurrant and blueberry/blackberry fruit, hint of spice and liquorice, gentle but persistent tannin. This is very fine wine indeed - full of flavour and complexity with a long finish, and not at all an archetypal showy Oz Shiraz. My favourite wine this Christmas!

  • The St. Henri opens with a big nose of blackberry, violet, lavender, licorice, and eucalyptus. this is a full bodied, dense wine with tannins that have softened over the years. On the palate, there are layer after layer of wonderful fruit including blackberry, black raspberry, casis, plum. Chocolate and pepper add a nice final touch. Not a lot of earthy or secondary flavor characteristics here. The wine is still drinking very young. Might wait another 5 years to try the next bottle. this is a fruit forward wine with very subdued oak. A bit one dimensional but really nice to drink.
