  • Followed over two days. Nose is deep and dark of blackberry, black raspberry, slate, stone, dry earth, herbs, bay leaf, black licorice, anise, hard candy, mineral and iron. Pleasant, typical nose. Though for me it's just a bit candied, dark and ungiving. I am not always a huge fan of licorice notes so this really holds things back for me. Palate has massive structure with a huge amount of acid and abundant very astringent tannin. Finish is medium featuring nice dark fruit, bay leaf and mineral. Plenty of room for improvement. This really needs some time to settle down.
