  Still inky with a murky depth. Translucent on the edges. Nose a pleasant waft of black cherry, incense, cardamom, dark licorice, slightly smokey on opening. After a few hours it coarsened somewhat into something dank and less appetizing. Still packed with flavor but lacks elegance. A remnant in the glass developed a film overnight. The short cork was a low grade one for a Premium wine. It came out in one piece but had zero springiness and almost looked like it was made of reconstituted cork pieces. While there was no liquid seepage, I speculate that it did not provide a high quality barrier.

  Notes of cherries on the nose and palate. Medium bodied and smooth.

  Dark ruby turning purple at the core. Blackberry aromas with less intense cherry, currant, iron and meaty aromas. Some spice and pepper evident in the mouth, but not super spicy. Tannins are firm but not overwhelming. Medium to full body, medium plus acidity, a little hot.
