Nose: rather earthy with some red fruits (cranberry and pomegranate); some funky woodiness, like wet woodchips coming through. Also overripe apple, like those under the trees at an apple orchard. A whiff of tobacco as well. Taste: dry, with a somewhat thin body. Notes of blue plum, concord grape, cranberry, and some raspberry jam. Some cedar wood on the mid-palate, more delicate than I anticipated. Good seam of acidity through the finish (cranberry-like tartness). Easy-drinking. Decently made. Wouldn't have guessed it to be $3! Would I buy this again? I would, but it's not high on my priority list. 85.

Blind tasting. I'm a little embarrassed about this. It's not varietally correct, not complex at all, but very drinkable.

Enjoyable with paella. Charcoal tones. Good value, as always.

Simple, and bit raisin and sweet. Lacking structure but no off flavors. Could be way worse at the price point.

Tastes like alcohol and cork...have had better CS Shiraz before. Bad batch?
