Decanted 2 hours. This is just now entering early maturity. Nose of earthy spices, sour cherry, pink Starburst, damp forest floor, tree sap. Palate has tangy dark red fruit, plenty of acidity, well-integrated oak notes that blend into a brown spice-accented finish. I’d guess 2026-2030 will be peak drinking.

Quite earthy nose with underwood, strawberry, cherry, and slightly musty notes. The palate is more fruit driven with red berry and cherry notes along with blood orange and more earthy flavors. Nice finish. This has aged very nicely and is starting to show interesting tertiary characteristics.

On opening, I almost chucked it. Tough, hard with a bitter edge. Kept on counter for about 3 days (with no N2) it softened considerably and became quite drinkable, long and interesting. This continued for a week, after which it developed a bitter edge again. Main lesson seems to be that it needs LOTS of air (or better, a good few many more years).

Not sure where this wine is. Muted nose. Maybe it needs a longer decant. Missing something. Old enough that a lot of the fruit is muted or gone but not old enough to develop secondary characteristics. I would either I missed the drinking window or I should have held it for a bit.

Just not up to previous bottles, unfortunately (see TNs). Drank fine, but the interest wasn't there, except at moments. Not sure why.
