Navarro is still a family-owned vineyard and winery, located in the cool Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. Wineries all around it — and all over the U.S. West Coast — have gone off the deep end and either sold themselves to the big-wine-interests-that-be or remained independent and jacked their prices up with the attendant PR deluge. On the other hand, Navarro has remained small and independent, and has continued to produce good wines at a reasonable price.
This Chardonnay shows the restraint of Anderson Valley fruit — i.e., emphasizing acidity over alcoholic ripeness — yet it shows a little too much oak for my taste as compared to the current iterations of Chablis, Macon and white Burgundy — i.e., less or no oak and emphasizing fruit and freshness.
Brilliant clear, very pale straw color. Toasted, buttered bread and pineapple aromas. Dry, minimal acids and tannins. Pineapple and lemon on the finish. Short balanced finish to round out this great value wine.

Yum, sweet corn and plums all the time. Soft yet vibrant (e.g. balanced acid). Really a hug of a wine.

Beautiful fruit - light fragrances of peaches, lichees, plums, nectarines, pecans, apples, pears and citrus.
Good value wine.
