Nice bricking hue in the glass beautiful color. Nose of nebbiolo rose petals, tar, cigar box. Delicious spiciness of red fruits, licorice dark berries. All nicely integrated with even keeled acidity. In a real great place right now. Still has stuffing to go further no doubt. Wish I had more

Wines of Italy Class at the Texas Wine School. This is a delicious, approachable alternative to Nebbiolos which needing one or more decades to reach their prime. Clean, expressive, intense nose of red cherries, black plums, licorice, forest floor and some sweet oak spices. The palate is dry, with a nice balance between the fruit and structure; medium (+) acidity, tannins and high alcohol (15%), which however is so well integrated as to not be noticeable. Full-bodied, but fairly light on its feet, with medium (+) flavor intensity and length. It is drinking well now and should continue to show well for several more years.

Very good wine by Aldo Conterno! Cherry, plum, spices on the nose. Initially some very Drying tannins but became beautifully balanced and smooth with lots of air. Especially the nose hits you in a fantastic way. Highly recommendable.

Lovely nose of rose, white pepper and more rose. Lush mouthfeel yet quite light. Background barnyard funk in a very good way. Hard to find a better wine to serve with a strong cheese.

Wonderful wine. Nose of raspberries, cherry, spice. Dry yet with some significant fruit balanced by acidity and alcohol content. Long finish. I've never had a bottle of il favot that was not excellent. 93
