A very rustic wine, with little subtlety, which I find to be one of the things I like about the aptly named Primitivo. It had a very spicy nose, full of mulberry and chocolate. The palate could best be described as juicy and spicy, with a prominent acidic component. An uncomplicated wine that is delicious and well suited to flavorful summer dishes like BBQ or zesty tomato-based pasta sauces.

Now in its advanced maturity. Truffle nuances. Ripe dense dark berry fruit, liquorice-led spice and excellent concentration. Mellow. For drinking up this year.

Note: I use the recommended scale, so 85 is a very good wine.
Excellent bottle Fruit present but balanced with some tannins
As noted before, no chocolate as I have had in some Primitivos, but so what?

Last but one of 12 delicious bottles and a real bargain to boot. Definitely at end of drinking window - will consume last in next few weeks.

I like it and still very pleasant but beginning to loose a bit of the bright cherry flavours. Drink up in next 6 months would be my advice
