Very dark purple with garnet. Dark cherry and earthy tones with some smoke. Palate is dominated by earthy fruit and spice dark cherry going to dusty herbal. Medium acid and tannins. Opened 2 hours early and Decanted 1 hour prior. Fruit is tertiary. Good steak wine.

MBUSK provided good description, concur. Got a bit grippy on the finish, but not displeasing. Nice earthy/herbal vs fruit back and forth between cab franc & cab sauvignon. Enjoyed at a tasting last fall and picked one up then--enjoyed with grilled lamb and various Zahav salads.

This was my #2 wine (out of 6) at our Bordeaux blend dinner. It pours a dark purple, with magenta hints at the rim, and on the palate it strikes me as a classic South African red, with moderately rich dark fruit matched with a particular set of savory goodness: charcoal, iron, bay leaf and sage. The coolness of those herbs and mineral notes provides a terrific counterbalance to the fruit, which is quite pure, although perhaps a bit lacking in mid-palate density. Moderately long finish.

Still very good but fruit is fading. Best in the next few months. Paired with meaty pasta nicely.

Solid and balanced. A bout nondescript.
