  Op 22 augustus 2020 schreef ik een jubelende proefnotitie over deze wijn met een score voor mij van 91 punten.
  Geen woord teveel gezegd, weer 91 punten. Op Moederdag 9 mei 2021 opende ik een 2e fles en ik was weer super enthousiast.
  De tannines waren nog even krachtig, in de neus een hint van sigarenkist en in de smaak iets van gebakken spek en geroosterde noten. De wijn komt over als een stoer en krachtig persoon die oog heeft voor elegantie. Ik ben benieuwd naar de volgende fles.

  Intens donkere rode kleur, bijna paars. Dichte kern. In de neus een complex aroma; na veelvuldig walsen kwam een weelderig bouquet van donkerrood fruit los, pruimen, bosbessen, doorspekt met de geur van walnoten en cacao.
  Het smaakpalet is heel breed verrukkelijk. De wijn is elegant en toch krachtig, met een prettig, dik mondgevoel, fluwelen tannines en fijne zuren. Verder geroosterde paprika, rijpe bramen, melkchocola, walnoten en pistache.
  Opvallend is de mooie balans tussen fruit, noten en expressiviteit.
  Voor mij een waar kunststuk van Toro met de Tinta de Toro, oftewel Tempranillo.
  Ben erg benieuwd naar het bewaar potentieel, nog 2 flessen!

  Certainly this is an impressive wine for price... but to me, it remains too rustic to merit a 91, 92 or higher.
  Dark & powerful... Lots of very ripe black fruit & some spices after paddling... medium tannin & medium-high acidity,
  BUT... I found on this wine a persistent "Black Bitter Chocolatey & Coffey" profile... that becomes on a "So Sweet Chocolatey & Coffey" profile with air.
  This "Sweet & Creamy Cappuccino" oriented profile goes and goes on, beside that secondary Very Ripe Black Fruit theme... So, I have to say... I missed the complexity of great wines.
  Paid 25$... it gives you some kind of a "50$+ Sensation".... So, good QPR, very good and enjoyable but "Not Terrific" at all.
  As some other Toro's I have tried, this is much better after opening, than 3 hours after (89 - 90).

  I agree with others - deep, rich, spice. Excellent value. Really enjoyed it
