  • After 25 years, this wine has aged remarkably well. Old World style for a California cab. On opening, the charred tobacco notes and oaky tannins came to the fore, yet the round and lush dark fruit flavors were still there. After being opened for 24 more hours, the wine softened beautifully and was lovely, balanced and fruity with hints of Howell Mountain spice, more nutmeg than black pepper. Deep red color. No bricking. Restrained nose. Very enjoyable.
