Popped and poured. Dark, black cherry and vanilla coke on the nose with some baking spices. Similar flavors on the palate with a definite cherry cola type flavor along with ripe, dark cherry fruit and some toasted oak notes. Medium acidity and tannins but a bit flat on the mid-palate and short on the finish. A fine pinot but not my favorite from Lynmar and poor QPR. Perhaps more time in bottle would help things come together a bit more?
This wine displays a bold garnet color. the nose is a savory aromatic melange of plum, dried herbs, blackberry, and cardamon. The firm and expansive mid-palate is highlighted by crushed cherries, allspice, and elderberry. The wine concludes with a silky finish of star anise, cherry cola, and molasses. Enjoy now or cellar until 2022.
I've had the pleasure of drinking a number of 2012 Oregon Pinots recently and this was as good as any and much better than most. The Big Table pinot's were very good too. Fresh cherry, big, just loved it. Surprising to me, it was better the 1st day when the wine's temperature was lower.
