This is the 'Vecchie Vigne' Casal di Serra label. Bought online Exel Wines, Scotland, approx £19.00
It's bottle-age does this a lot of favours, drinking superbly now at 5 yrs old (mature?), lovely Verdicchio in a commercial style, with some complexity. Classy. Nice to be able to find it with some bottle age.
C....solid straw. Alc legs, looks medium+body.
N.....not much, disappointing.
T.....now we're talking: dry pineapples with lovely acidity; quince, the pith of lemons, some interesting earthy impressions, what a classy complex dry wine with great fruit mid-mouth. Good length, good concentrated end. Some wood. Best bottle/vintage I've had of this old favourite.
VFM? Defo buy again. Wouldn't keep it any longer than it's current 5 yrs old, drink now, it won't get better than this.

Drinking at an optimal stage of development. Mineral, white peach, bottle age. Good vivacity. This has a round personality and a delicious ripe style. Certainly better than the 2011, which was inconsistent, vegetal and slightly dirty. I think this will remain at this level for 6 months to a year, at which point it will likely be in to decline.

Tasty and drinking at its peak. Low acid, melons and herbs, soft acids, slightly lifted. A touch of green stem.

This test vintage is certainly drinking better than the 2012. Far fresher and more direct. Good concentration, green melon and oyster shell aspects.

Best showing yet. Bit more character: some minerality. Quite punchy. Fresh. Fair value at £10.
