Mostly dark fruits, dark cherries, black currents, sap, mushroom and earth. Medium weight, cool and fresh fruit expression and nicely integrated tannins. Showing good terroir typicity. The fruit is not terribly sweet. Still very primary and will need time.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Soft nose of spices, berries, plums and wet stones. Flavors of black berries, raspberries and a bit of tangy cherry. Bright acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.
The aromatics were saliva inducing but the palate was fairly tight, until the last glass or two. Lots of spice and brooding dark red fruits. Full bodied and the tannin is pretty well integrated for a Vougeot. I'd let this rest for another 3-5.
