The cork was completely dried out and hard as a rock so took some work to extract. This wine shows very little if any signs of ageing so I believe the drinking window extends well into the 2020s. Still very fresh and fruity with some heat. Decanted six to eight hours before drinking. Very enjoyable port experience.

(Dow's Vintage Port) This was a wonderful old Port. Having faded to a raspberry red colour, with just a little note of tawny at the rim, it was in excellent condition. Molasses and black fruits on the nose, with a velvet textured palate and fine, soft, integrated tannins. Figgy, with good fruit and strong alcohol, particularly on the finish. A lovely, warming length.
