Pleasantly surprised by this. Deep red. Nose is of soy and macerated black cherries. Tannins are a bit present still but very good sap to the palate. Earth and minerals are complexed with dried flowers. There is good some good acidity that provides some energy and drive to the back of the palate.

I was expecting a bit more from this, and I wonder if the synthetic cork contributed some to the lackluster experience. Still a deep purple color without any brown on the edges. Nice mouth feel, better than many of the Acacia offerings. Definitely some good wild berry flavor up front. From that initial berry flavor it goes quickly to an earthy, oaky tannic presence. I'd pre-read the other reviews and had it with some BBQ chops, which stood up well to it. Nonetheless, it's a one-trick pony.

Opened both of my bottles....both were done. Acacia says they had trouble with the '01 and '02 lasting very long with the synth corks.....Kinda sucks when the $60 wine bites the dust that soon

Served with Turkey. Very dark color for a Pinot. Lots of body and fruit. Slightly hot tasting but the cherry and berry still come through. Could easily hold up to steak. Drink now as syntheticcork is suspect.

Went so well with duck crepes and Brussells Sprouts. The wine accentuated the duck flavor.
