Stinky animale on the nose recedes some with air; palate is bright with plummy fruit and earthy minerals, smoky, meaty notes abound. Really very nice, never a dull moment as it continued to evolve in the glass. Very traditional, terroir driven wine. An hour or two decant is in order here. Great buy at $25.

nose: a really interesting smokey nose with salted meat tones accompanied by earth, brown spices, dark florals, and mixed red berry tones
taste: very silky but also meaty and a bit muscular with tart cherries, earth, brown spices, and mushroom tones
overall: a interesting and somewhat muscular gevrey with good meaty qualities. It posseses a nice structured complexity that belies it's village status with good acidity for further development. Behind the meatyness of the wine there is polish and subtle nuanced qualities with a earthen+tart cherry attack that leans into a brown spiced finish

Meaty, earthy aromas and flavors, more N-S-G than G-C in character. Good balance, surprisingly powerful. An overachiever. 90.
