  • Proprietor's Reserve designation. Base neck fill with excellent cork. Decanted and served. Clear medium garnet-ruby-brick red color. Initial bouquet of aromatic wood, perhaps due to the redwood cooperage, suggestive of eucalyptus or pine resin, with notes of creosote and pitch. Later, pleasant notes of cranberry, red currants, dried orange peel, and grilled sage. Similar on the palate, balanced, smooth and mellow. After an hour, the wine reached its zenith, silky and fresh, with tart red berries in the foreground and unobtrusive cedar and graphite like a fine old Pauillac.
