  • More sophisticated than Blanchards typically shows. Full and clear fruit that '02 Truchots exhibit.

  • Casual Sunday Dinner?: Probably drunk too quickly before this had time to open up. Classic MSD earthiness, if somewhat dirty, sweet, and good dark purple fruit quality on top. Not sure if this is the most representative Truchot or just needed air. 92-93

  • Tasted over 2 hrs
-initially semi-translucent with moderate bricking though after some air and mixing of bottom-of-the-bottle sediment it takes on a murky purpleness
-full-fledged mature Burg aromas sweet decaying forest floor, the last pour has a richer plum fruit element
-med acidity, med- weight silky mature elements, med- tannins
    -fully mature

  • Slow-ox 30 minutes, tasted over 2 hrs, bottle from secondary market
-nearly semi-translucent ruddy red mild-moderate bricking
-flamboyantly funky with the savory stewed tomato element I often find in Truchot wines along with an earthy rhubarb component and faint sousbois
-med acidity, med- weight hides the markedly sappy concentration of savory and faded red fruit that builds from the mid-palate to the moderately long finish accompanied by med/med- tannins
-fantastic aromatics as to be expected from a Truchot wine, this bottle is doing well and while clearly in a fully mature zone it is not showing signs of tiring either

  • PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs, bottle from secondary market
    -moderate bricking
-expressive sweet decaying forest floor marked stewed tomato
-med acidity, med/med- weight some dark fruit and sweet earthy elements persist with good length, gains weight intensity and minerality with 2 hours of air, med/med- tannins
-similar to last bottle 3 years ago this bottle seems very advanced, particularly on the nose
