  • PNP. Full yellow color. Spice, white flowers, white peach and a sweet tart like element (candy/powdered sugar), however the nose lacks a flinty/mineral laden note that I frequently get from PYCM. The palate shows more intensity with a lemon rind element to the texture that adds depth and complexity. I've had this wine twice now with consistent impressions and am starting to think that 2013 was the worst vintage for the PYCM CC in recent memory.

  • Splash decanted. Full yellow color. Spice, white flowers, white peach and a sweet tart like element (candy/powdered sugar). The nose lacks a flinty/mineral laden note that I frequently get from PYCM. Relatively open knit palate, lemon infused flavors but lacking intensity and complexity. Not a great CC tonight.

  • A fantastic showing after only a short decant showing intense white flower and stone fruit aromatics with an elegant and lifted palate, creamy oak and citrus infused acidity. Continues to gain weight and intensify with air and finishes long showing exceptional power and drive. Excellent.

  • A very good wine to be sure but left me a little bit wanting. Followed a great Leflaive Combettes 96 in comparison to which the Corton seemed a little thin. Precise, focused and balanced surely it was. Some left for day 2 initially came across as quite weak with only lemon and oak - however it gained more stature with air and temperature. Overall although I liked it - again - slightly underwhelmed by PYMC's Corton (a 2014 showed weak in a recent blind tasting). So seems to me based on the limited sample size that I prefer the Meursaults from this producer (a recently drunk Perrieres 10 was a rockstar).

  • The nose was elusive. On the palate a sense of almost baked fruit, with the truffle sense that rlove mentions. Unlike most 2013's, which are relatively open for business, I'll likely not open another for quite a while.
