  • Drinking very nicely. Translucent garnet with slight bricking. Very varietal Nebbiolo--strawberry and plum are certainly forward, yet also shows baking spice, turned earth, and a floral undertone, aromatically open, very slight lifted character. A big wine on the palate, pure red fruit, high acidity, fills out the mid palate completely. Tannins are mellowed, but not resolved--definitely a wine that is big on structure, as Nebbiolo should be. Good finish, subtle floral undertone I can't quite place.

Really impressive, I like where this is at now since the fruit hasn't moved into the jammy or pruney stage yet, but the secondary character is emergent. Tons of structure, drink or hold, hopefully someone buries a bottle for another decade+ to see what happens. Hold my more recent vintages from Harrington for 3-5 years minimum.

  • Dirt, cherries, licorice. Despite all of the seemingly secondary flavors, there’s a clarity that betrays it as New World, but, man, this is unmistakably Nebbiolo in a way that distinguishes it from the New World Nebbiolos that I have had before, even from the fruit from this very same vineyard. Take notice, California winemakers: this is how you do it.

  • What a great little bottle of Cali Nebbiolo. Very precise and elegant bottle. Beautiful bright cherry core with round tannins and medium acid. Wish I had more and would definitely let a few age. Even better because the winemaker is a really nice guy.

  • Flight tasting. Quite interesting. Pepper, leather, smoke on the nose; almond, blue cheese, oregano and black currant on the palate. Very long taste, high on tannins, a bit funky/mold. Should develop nicely over a couple of years.
