Yes it was good, but we were a bit underwhelmed by no real complexity to it. Decanted for at least an hour and felt it to be overpriced for the “experience.”

All of the red wines our group drank at dinner were opened at noon and tasted at 3 as I was sure at the end of the evening I would not be able to fairly rate anything. This maybe one of the worst QPR's I have ever drank. This wine should have been thrown in the vats with the rest of the Cabernet and sold at $60 a bottle and I might have still complained. The only reason it is getting an 84 is that I saved some in the bottle and am drinking it while I write this and it has improved some from yesterday where it tasted like a $17 no name cabernet. Okay the nose is dark berries. The palate yesterday was totally non descriptive. Today there are flavors of dark fruit, dark cherry, eucalyptus and and touch of mocha but nothing really stands out. The finish does not make you want more. There were 13 people at dinner last night and no one was looking to try more of this wine. I am wondering whatever possessed me to spend 300+ on this wine. Probably because I have had the 2003 BTK from Hobbs and it was spectacular. This was a total letdown.

Giving all my Dr Crane and To Kalon 2011 away. Yes its an off-year but not good enough. Tor and Carter for example made much better 2011s.
