  • Beautiful wine - Medium lemon color and crystalline - looks quite young
    Medium aromas - citrus/ melon/ chamomile/ apple
Intense reductive notes of ash/ matchstick and pine resin which blew off after approx. 30 mins in the glass
Full palate of citrus but primarily mineral at this stage - dry rocks and ash - fairly round and with an oily texture - at the same time rather creamy and I would guess some lees contact
    Medium acidity and medium length
Great example of what Fiano can do with some age and prob no rush to drink now - prob 2-3 yrs left

  • Single blind tasting
Bright almost fluorescent, lemon yellow color
Medium + aromatics of initially reductive flint qualities that quickly blow off to yield sweet melon, mineral and ash. Secondary floral notes.
Medium palate with some phenolic bitterness and medium acidity. Primary palate is Meyer lemon
The most amazing note of the wine is the mouth feel. Round, creamy and slightly oily with a long finish at only 6 six years old.

  • Friday night in the library. Tasted blind. Pop and poured. Drank over 2+ hours.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of honey, hot stones minerality, citrus lemon, apricot. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honey, citrus lemon, pineapple, creamy apricot, hot stones minerality, streak of green herbs, bitter almond. Medium+ finish.
Tough guessing this wine. Was going from Chenin Blanc to Pinot Gris. On hindsight, the bitter almond note should have given a clue for Italian indigenous varietal.
Can still go on to develop more honey character with a bit more age. Nice minerality from the volcanic soil.

  • This is a very fine example of Fiano. Clear, bright straw yellow in color. The nose is clean and complex, with pear, yellow peach, citrus (lemon and grapefruit), herbs and white flowers. The palate is dry, but with nice sweet fruit. The acidity is medium (+), alcohol is medium at 12% alcohol. The mouthfeel is smooth. There's a nice streak of minerality in the medium (+) long finish. It is drinking well now and likely to continue drinking well for several more years. A very solid value.
