My birth year! So of course its a tradition to open a 63 port around my birthday, 6/6. Yep, that is 666 as first 3 numbers in my birthday ))
This was the Grants of St. James bottling which is different than the usual Taylor Fladgate.
Unfortunately this bottle was average. Came across too hot and unbalanced. Followed over about 2 weeks in the fridge. Started out very stemmy and not so interesting. After a few days it mellowed and some of the typical port flavors emerged, albeit the alcohol was still too dominant.
Cork and bottle fill in really good shape considering its been waiting so long to be liberated. Not sure if this is a representative bottle or got exposed to heat along the way which did seem so, can't recall how long I've had it but certainly not 60 years!!
Cheers
