Even with a bad cold (which oddly didn’t effect my taste or smell, just a sore throat from hell) the beam of liquid sunshine of the 09 Cristal was just the elixir to brighten the day. I can’t recall another high end Champers that really nails the balance between being open, accessible, and even friendly, but with a dead serious backend structure. Citrus and stone with an expansive, creamy mid palate that lingers well into the finish and the night for that matter. Joy.

Open and recork 2 hours. Rather dilute and lacking depth or concentration. Disappointing compared to previous bottles.

Hundred Acre Tasting: Pronounced nose intensity with toast, bread, mineral, ripe lemon. High acidity and high mousse. Long finish.

Very fresh and vibrant champagne. The bubbles and the mouse are excellent. I ate it to sushi and it was really nice.
The taste includes citrus, flint stone, very high dosage of mineral.
This cristal is a very easy to drink champagne. It will be interesting to see how it evolves in the future.
