Decanted at 4 pm and drunk for the next 6 hours...from the start the nose was amazing...earthy mushrooms, leather, chocolate, pepper, eucalyptus and tea. Color is light to medium translucent garnet. Not necessarily rich on the palate, more like smooth but minerally and a bit austere but a flavor explosion in your mouth. The finish just lasts and lasts...Absolutely perfect with my homemade cassoulet by the fire during a blizzard!
Beautiful nose of bacon, mushrooms and white pepper with hints of dark cherry, body of an opulent burgundy, not as complex as the lalala but very alluring, long long finish. At its peak now and very enjoyable! Great value for $100

(E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde) Slightly bricking, light medium red color with pale meniscus; nice lamb jus and pepper nose; lovely, lamb and beef jus, borscht and horseradish palate, probably at its prime; medium-plus finish
