  • That's and excellent Malbec, perfect with Argentinian steak. Needs 30 min of air to show up completely. Fruity, full body, ready to drink.

  • Fruitfull, with plums, blueberry and cherries, somewhat juicy and loose. Begging for a best grip, works well as a first wine for the night. 88

  • Had this wine at Mirasol in BA. Ran about $80 (US) at USD cash rate. This was the best Malbec we had in Argentina. Partly it is a 2010 so drinking well now and partly a better wine with more character and layers. It's almost as dark as a cab franc but with a ruby line around the edge. The bouquet is rich with dark fruit, some stone and saw dust or pencil shavings. The body is still a bit forward to me but with mouth aeration it develops more with round tannins in the mid back. Wine doesn't seem to benefit from more time although it will be more accessible with less breathing as this rounds out.

  • Drank in Argentina
Fresh rich black fruits nose with a silly smooth palate and a medium length. Nice.
    Notes from the wine maker:
Angélica Zapata Malbec Alta 2010 is a blend of Malbec grapes sourced from different vineyards. The “Angélica” vineyard offers ripe plum jammy flavors with a soft, supple mouthfeel. “La Pirámide” lends intense black berry fruit with spicy black pepper and clove. “Altamira” provides elegance and freshness on the palate with a flavor profile of red berry fruit. Lot 3 from “Adrianna” is intensely floral, with hints of violets and lavender, while lot 9 provides a deeply violet color and a long persistent finish of cassis flavors and mineral notes. These five elements contribute to wonderful complexity in the final blend..
