PnP. Huge step up from the bottle 6 years ago. Violet red with only a hint of brown. Nose had fresh cherries, dark berries, tobacco, light oak notes and earth (surprisingly fresh). Palate had medium fruit that did not thin out mid palate. It was focused with light acidity and the tannins, though smoothing, gave a rustic finish. Nice combo of 'alive' fruit and some secondary/tertiary characteristics. Overall very pleasing and paired well with food and improved over the first hour (short decant might help).
Not decanted. Browning on rim. Nose of leather, blood, oak, and some cherries. Got the vegetal (asperagus) notes early on, but this blew off -- thankfully because I really don't like this in reds. Palate was a bit thin but well balanced with some remaining tannins and decent acidity. Was okay with pasta.
garnet with orange rim. Tertiary characteristics with a hint of asparagus in the nose. Taste had a slight 'dirty' character, but the cork was perfect. I don't thnk off, as it was drinkable. But not stellar by any means.
