Top shoulder fill. Cork in fairly good condition. Deep tawny. Raspberry tea on the nose. Remnants of life on the palate; pomegranate, earth, but punctuated by an old-wine sourness. No noticeable tannin, medium acidity. Mostly sour red fruit. Certainly outperformed the rock-bottom expectations.

Monthly Tuesday group #001: Pomerol (By me): Very mature bouquet, a bit dusty, earth, mushrooms, marzipan, tea and also some cigar box. On the palate tea, lovage, chocolate, ok acidity and completely melted tannin. A bit drying in the finish. Surprisingly enough this very old and off vintage wine was still drinkable, but nevertheless I did not score it.
