Didn’t love this. Red fruits, a bit hot, medicinal. Smoothed out with time but still lacked finesse. Cork wasn’t in the greatest shape.

My first Vargellas 2001 and an absolute joy to drink. Quite crisp dark cherry among the red berries, and great elegance on the finish. Not at all cloying nor over-bearing, just deliciously supple and refined.

Still dark with a primary nose of eucalyptus and blackberry. Full and concentrated. Enjoyable and good value. A bit rustic on the finish and lacking complexity, so this a port I would think is best now rather than hoping for great things in the future.
