Poured into a decanter and forgot about it , so these notes are after being open for 12 hours. Mature , a little plummy. Pinot for sure, red tinged w brown , light / translucent , nice wine, happy to drink it up.Plums and cherries. I think I have more of these , will def drink soon and sooner after opening.

Blind 1/7. I really should have recognized the Laurent signature, as I've had a number of these wines, but this felt older than its vintage to me (I guessed 90s). It did have the slightly muddled note I get from pre 2005 Laurent, and had quite a bit of sediment. Calling pre 2005 Laurent blind is silly, imho, and I say that as someone who owns a reasonable amount.

Mid ruby color, with some opaqueness. No mistaking the oak on the nose although some red fruit underneath. Nice palate. Very soft. But you have to like the oak, which remains quite present. Decent fruit as well, and still quite tasty. Drinking great.

Last bottle was clearly a bad bottle. This one has nice cherry and earth and allspice. The oak is nicely integrated. But not much secondary development. I think it is at least 5 years away from what I would consider maturity. Good potential.

(from memory) Dark ruby, big nose of char, cherry, black licorice, wet earth, spicy oak and mushroom, fruit forward attack with bing cherry, blackberry and mocha with a deep mid-palate of spicy red and black fruit, finishes long with dark fruits, soft tannins, mocha and lingering mixed berry
