Lopez de Heredia Vertical (NYC): Steely acidity with a soft pillow center. Long sharp finish. Clean and crisp with a hint of sweetness and carmel & honey. B+

Mucho Lopez (Il Corso): Expressive but unusual bouquet combining the expected sweet and minerally scents (candy corn, beach sand) with something cosmetic or chemical, like aloe skin cream. With very tame acidity and pale, mild fruit, I kept waiting for it to open up further, but after an initial gain in volume of the sweeter, candied scents, the chemical thing took over and the resulting aerosol/hairspray odor made the wine too offputting to drink.
