Dark, but clear color. Sweet dark berries, vanilla, caramel in the nose. On the palate, broad start with good length. Cranberry, vanilla, sweet but not too much. Drank with a steak with an avocado and chilli marinade, which - for me - was an absolute perfect match.

Incredibly ripe fruity nose - bright cassis and raspberry, cranberry and vanilla. Fruit-forward Medoc-style palate, sweetness of blackberry coulis and plum layered with a tarry, tannic austerity. Warm and lasting finish, slightly spiced with a little green pepper. Delicious, drinking well, but at this price would prefer a decent 2012 right bank.

Grand Cru Cabernet (pyrmont wharf, sydney): Slight burnt rubber and sweaty blackcurrant, sweet spice, there is a ripeness to the fruit that is a little off-putting on the nose…and so it proves on the palate; over ripe sweaty blackcurrant. Nah.

Dense structure, a bit one-dimensional. Good cherry notes. Nice to drink now.
