  • 2 hour decant

Beautiful aromas of black tea, flowers, dried rose, lavender, dry red cherries and earthy tones. Youthful palate with good depth and balance, attractive acidity and long finish. Nose is ripping, palate and finish are good but more to come. Upside but no reason to wait w proper decant

  • Brought along to a Sardian degustation “open your cellar evening”, this was a fantastic accompaniment. Nose showing darker notes, tar, leather, but of age, but to taste, what an experience. The palate is fresh, red fruited, tannins no longer brooding, more settled. Plenty my years in this wine, really depends on how you like your barolo - for me, this is open for business.

  • Decanted 3 hours before pouring. Ruby almost to the rim. Somber aromas of anise and tobacco. Medium + weight, by which I mean fairly dense for Nebbiolo. Excellent underlying savory complexity with reticent dark fruit and a very tannic finish. This hardly budged with several more hours of air. Classic, backward, more virile style that needs a good 10 years to start showing.

  • Medium garnet with moderate rim clearing
Medium plus intoxicating aromas of fresh and dried strawberry/ cherry - high toned aromas of beautiful lilac/ dark florals and rosewater/ black tea and furniture polish
Medium bodied with palate of red cherry and rose petals
Medium plus fine tannins which are perfectly integrated with medium plus alcohol and medium plus acidity - quite a long finish and perfect tannin/ alcohol/ acid balance
This wine was just beautiful during our blind tasting but another point added when paired with dinner that night
I find this at that perfect point to drink Barolo - secondary notes developing well but still with plenty of primary fruit present
Such a delight - drinking perfectly now IMO but could age another 10-20 years

  • Blind tasting
    Medium garnet, rim clearing, filtered
Aromatics medium +. Red plum and black cherry. Dark rose later. No new oak.
Palate has medium body. Acid medium +. Tannins medium +, fine grained on teeth and gums. Alcohol medium +. Chalk and ripe black cherry.
Finish has a medium length. Balanced towards the structure rather than fruit.
    Dry glass notes of roses
I guessed a Grenache from southern Rhone. Seemed fruit forward and darker in color for a Barolo to me. Regardless of my blind tasting inabilities, was still quite nice
Can drink now or continue to hold.
