Would consider this to be good but not great. Very good fruit still on the nose but the relatively short finish was a bit disappointing. There were few tannins and structure left so if you have any bottles of this, better drink up soon.
I really don’t get all the high scores on this wine. Unless it was that much better when it was younger but that is hard to believe.

Wine Tasting Group - Napa and Sonoma - Jan 18, 2020 (Classic Wine Storage, Dallas, TX): A blend of merlot, petite sirah, syrah, charbono, cabernet sauvignon, and petit verdot. Rich blackberry and blueberry aromas with a nice minty/eucalyptus note. Palate was big, full bodied and rich but balanced. Rich blackberries and blueberries were up and front on the palate with some spices and coffee grounds on the back end. Medium+ tannins on the mid-palate. Couldn't detect any heat from 15% abv but rather, more in the big weight of the wine. Not my style but well done for what it is.

Consistent with prior note - just too much sweet oak mid-palate and finish for my taste. Really short shelf live for the varietal, which adds to the poor QPR.

(Robert Foley The Griffin) Saturated very dark ruby color; tart raspberry, ripe black fruit, raspberry jam nose; concentrated, baked black fruit, baked raspberry, integrating oak palate with some residual sugar; medium finish (47% Merlot, 35% Petite Sirah, 9% Charbono, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot; 15.5% alcohol)

Nose: very jammy
Taste: very heavy and flabby. Had a muscat type of flavor or it was turning. Not good.
