I'll be charitable and say that soapy notes indicate a flawed bottle (and no, it wasn't detergent residue from cleaning the glass). Very strange, to say the least.

Thief’s notes are spot on below. Not a whole lot of finesse and somewhat strange effervescence initially that blew off after about 45 min decanting. Not very nuanced with straight forward cherry/cola, minimal tannin, acid was there but alcohol still was evident. Not sure if this will improve at all but would drink now over next 5 years.

Big and rich. Very big. Absolutely New World Pinot Noir. Lots of great robust fruit up front. Molasses covered cherries and caramelized brown sugar. Some deep gray peppercorn spices along with a good amount of funk. Overall a big ripe style of Pinot - which many will enjoy. Definitely in the Sanguis fashion.

(Tasting at the Sanguis Fall Pickup Party) A more Cali-Pinot version of the two Pinots poured. Bright in the glass with nice legs, sporting a beam of fruit that runs throughout the tasting experience, mostly light plums and Asian spices. Dusty and complex. Drink 2015-2020+.

Quite overripe and sweet for my taste. A bit oxidative as well with some “frizante” in the finish.
