Extra dark ruby color, fully opaque and average sediment. Profound blackberry, cassis, tobacco, and bramble aromas. Creamy palate due to some well-integrated oak and a good supply of tannin helping to keep the fruit intact. Acidity seems a bit low but is enough to believe that this could even improve with a little more time. Very much in the style of Mac and Russell; delivering big, bold, and smooth wines. 4+11+16+8= 89

Also venturied. Nose: dry tobacco leaf, black fruit, and some mushroom. Taste: decent amount of dry leaf and tobacco, inky, and full date jam like tannin. Taste of dates, and blueberry preserve. Quite dense. Medium-full body and dry. Texture is quite smooth, actually great transition from start to the lingering finish. This is a steak wine or grilled portobello if you are a vegetarian like me. A little brightness would bring this to the psychological barrier of 90s.

Darkest purple; big Syrah nose; peppery, ripe grapes, prune compote; big fruit but soft tannins; fat; viscous; BBQ rib wine.

Worst name, almost passed. Nice not too ripe Syrah.

Vinturied and drank. Lots of sediment. Decent body and fairly smooth. Paired well with a beef soup. Decent value for the price.
