Last bottle (sadly) of a 6-pak bought on release. Still so youthful for a decade old... Clear light gold color. Ethereal nose of seashells/ wet slate / seawater. But also some of that Raveneau unctuousness almost a fresh hot buttered bread out of the oven. As it opened, more exotic elements of jasmine/oolong teas, gunsmoke and lemon chiffon. Had the balance to pair with multiple exotic dishes at the Morris in SF. Bummer these are now out of reach for most of us mere mortals.

PNP. Tide pool, honey, powdered lemon candy on the nose. Medium weight palate, some stone fruits but redeemed by a chalky, lemon rind drying texture that is crisp and refreshing. Lacks acidic bite on the finish but has a palate coating texture that is deep yet light weight.

Opinions on this diverged, as this definitely has a touch of sweetness on it (botritys?). I think for those that wanted the purest and most classical Raveneau, this was disappointing. I found it less of a problem, especially on the nose which was pretty classically Raveneau (slightly herbal and lifted, not cloying). The palate was was a touch richer on the finish than I'd like, but overall it's a very nice bottle of wine.
